An enhanced triage process significantly reduces the time it takes to triage and diagnose, freeing up more time for billable patient care.
Dental Patient Triage gives your new patients a seamless digital intake experience — and gives your practice a complete clinical brief before they sit down in your chair.

Dental Patient Triage is designed for any dental practice that sees new patients. It is particularly valuable for practices that want to reduce chair-side history-taking time, strengthen their medical defence position, and automate radiology referrals. If your practice sees more than 10 new patients per month, DPT will deliver an immediate and measurable return.
DPT saves your practice time in two ways — and time is revenue. First, it eliminates up to 15 minutes of chair-side history-taking per new patient, freeing that time for billable dentistry.
Second, it automates radiology referrals completely, removing 15–20 minutes of combined clinician and reception time per referral.
At Riverina Dental Albury, 268 referrals were dispatched automatically in 11 months — without a staff member touching a single one. DPT also enables a fee restoration strategy where patients who complete their forms receive a discount, allowing you to present your true market rate with confidence.
Every form submission captures a date and time-stamped, patient-signed record of the patient’s medical history, dental history, and consent declarations at the time of their appointment. This creates a structured, auditable clinical record that is far more defensible than a verbal history or a paper form.
The Medical History form screens for 27 body systems and flags critical alerts — including bisphosphonate use, local anaesthetic allergy, and head-and-neck radiation history — before the patient sits down in your chair.
After your 30-day free trial, your subscription converts automatically to our standard pay-per-use pricing — $2.00 per submission for Medical History and Dental Triage forms, and $1.00 per submission for the Radiology Referral.
There are no monthly fees and no lock-in contracts. You only pay when a patient submits a form. If you are one of our first 20 founding practices, you will receive the founding practice rate of $1.00 per submission across all forms for your first six months. You can cancel at any time — no questions asked.
DPT works alongside any practice management software. When a patient submits their forms, you receive an encrypted PDF by email. Your receptionist opens the PDF, copies the information, and pastes it into the patient’s clinical note in your PMS. This takes approximately 45 seconds and works with Dental4Windows, Exact, Pracsoft, Dentrix, and any other PMS used in Australian dental practices. No technical integration or IT setup is required.
Yes. Patient data is encrypted, securely transmitted, and handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles. DPT is also HIPAA-aligned for practices operating across Australian and US standards. Form submissions are delivered as encrypted PDFs and are not stored on the DPT platform beyond the transmission process. Your patients’ data belongs to your practice.
You send the form link to your patient as part of your existing new patient booking confirmation — by SMS, email, or however your practice currently communicates appointment details. The link opens directly in the patient’s browser on any device. No app download is required.
If a patient hasn’t completed their forms before the appointment, your receptionist can send a reminder in four clicks directly from your PMS appointment book, taking approximately 20 seconds.
Patients appreciate being asked about their health and dental history before they arrive — it signals that your practice is thorough and prepared. The forms are designed to be completed comfortably at home on any device, in the patient’s own time, without the pressure of a waiting room.
At Riverina Dental Albury, completion rates for the Medical History form are close to 100%, indicating that patients find the process straightforward and acceptable. When the dentist already knows the patient’s history before they sit down, the first appointment feels more personalised and less rushed.
